pkinvest IM plaining on buying the Logitech Z5450 wireless system is there any better pc speaker system out there because bose companion 3 and 5 just sucked i tried them both and they are only good at low range frequencies. My budget is $500-600. please let me know if there is something better out there.

October 22nd, 2009 pkinvest Am trying to help a family member who is hard of hearing and suggested they have auxillary speakers posiitoned near to where they sit to watch tv, which means the volume does not need to be set at max!
Have tried it with basic speakers from my pc – it works, but is very “tinny” and the wires are a problem.
Without resorting to home cinema (which would be a waste as they would not be able to appreciate the surround sound etc) wondered if there was a reasonably priced alternative?
Don’t know the difference between wifi and wireless and infra red (other than the real obvious) and would appreciate any tips / advice on the matter.
The tv is a new samsung lcd.

October 21st, 2009 pkinvest I would like to be able to listen to Internet radio and music from my PC around the house. I only need one set of speakers and would be more than happy to carry them/plug them in where required. Sadly I am not in the position of being able to afford a hugely expensive wired in system so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a cheapish wireless method. Alternatively I already have a pair of quite powerful active speakers so may also be interested in a solution that could convert them to wireless. I am not very up to speed on this type of technology but I imagine it exists.

October 21st, 2009 pkinvest I have my iTunes library on my desktop but would like to be able use that as a music server when I am working on my laptop. This means I want to be able to play and control my music through the laptop but have playback come through the desktop speakers. I have searched extensively for solutions to this simple idea but cannot find any. Help would be much appreciated.
Laptop music -> Wireless Router -> Desktop Speakers???
